Sustainability

At Manhattan Peach, we aim to reduce our impact on the environment. We strive to be more sustainable in every aspect of our practice. As a Southern California-based swimwear and activewear brand, it makes sense that we want to keep our oceans clean. We would like to contribute to an eco-conscious and carbon-neutral future.  

Our Fabrics

We use high-quality and eco-friendly fabrics for our swimwear and activewear pieces. We focus exclusively on materials that have superior durability and are sustainably sourced. All of our fabrics are certified to meet the global OEKO-TEX®standard for safe textiles.

Swimwear has traditionally been made from synthetic materials like nylon, polyester, and spandex that takes hundreds of years to break down. At Manhattan Peach, we have incorporated only eco-friendly fabrics into our designs. These recycled swimwear fabrics behave just like traditional fabric, but they help clean up the planet. Our swimwear collection is made of  ECONYL® regenerated Nylon. ECONYL®  is a form of nylon that is made entirely from waste products. It is made from a range of post-consumer waste, including abandoned fishing nets, ghost nets, old carpets, and rigid textiles and aims to be a green alternative to the original Nylon product which is made from a derivative of oil.

Our activewear collection has been created with fabric made from OEKO-TEX-certified, recycled post-consumer PET plastic bottles. Our recycled activewear fabric is offering strong compression, UV protection, as well as a soft, silky feel and will maintain its fabric power even under the heaviest workout.

Our accessories are made from 100% cotton, including our hats, tote bags and cover-ups. Cotton is an all-natural fiber and it is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable.

Our Packaging

Sustainable packaging is important because it reduces our environmental impact. We use 100% compostable bags made from cornstarch to pack each of our swimwear and activewear pieces. These bags biodegrade within 180 days in a composting system and leave no toxicity in the soil. 

We also use bags made from 100% recycled plastic to pack our accessories. All of our hangtags are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and are recyclable. All of our mailers and shipping labels are 100% compostable. They break down easily and can be placed in the compost bin.
